"Spirit Tools"

This series began with a gift from my partner's father, who collects and sells old tools. I wanted to create art you can hold in your hand. After scrubbing off all the rust, and applying two coats of oil ground, I start painting, letting the spirit of the tool guide my hand. When a global pandemic hit, this series became more introspective, searching. Thus the title, "Spirit Tools." You can feel the energy of so many hands in each piece.
